Focus on what is good in our life at the present moment. All of us would have faced some kind of issues, each day, at home or workplace, with our friends, relatives, etc.. But, focussing on these will make them appear big whereas they don’t need so much of our energy and time. All of us face some kind of problems in our lives at some or the other point. But, its not wise to focus only on those problems. Someone would have hurt you at work place with a silly comment. But, its definitely not worth to brood the day over that particular comment! Your client would have appreciated you but whats the point if the focus still stays on the silly comment? You lose your happiness and at the end of the day, you are not happy with yourself! Problems are smaller things and are inevitable. They do not need a magnifying glass but would get definitely solved. They are little challenges we need to face to learn the lessons in life! So, they are part of the curriculum. We should not let the problems drain our energy, afterall what goes down needs to come up and if its staying up for sometime, thank God for his kindness. No problem can be bigger than us which means we can confront and solve them. If something bad happens, we focus only on that and leave the other 100 happy things around us. Life will upset us with these tiny little problems and its up to us to take them up as challenge or accept our defeat. Just because kids don’t get pizzas to eat might be a problem for them, but when we teach them to focus on what is good and what is available, they will learn. Their problem is not as big as the road side kid’s problem who has only one meal a day. If your spouse and you had a fight in the morning, do not brood over it, either of you, say sorry and move forward. Think of what all he/she has done for you. If theres an argument with a neighbour, move on. Don’t talk behind backs and focus on what had happened. May be, they too have realised and want to forget it but if we keep reminding them, the wound will become an infection. The same applies to the work place. We are spending most of our time in the office and hence its very important to stay enthusiastic and positive. If we think upon the appraisals of the previous year, we definitely cannot perform better in the present year. May be, the manager had to handle some pressure from his top officials which he dutifully passed on to you. We should be strong enough in not letting our mind focus on bad things. There are so many good things happened at work. Focus on those and you would get motivated. If a child is weak in maths, we normally focus only on the maths marks in the report card and conveniently shift our focus from the other subjects where he/she would have scored 90+. If someone breaks a glass jar, don’t feel bad cos there might be other 20 such jars and be happy that the rest are fine. For a woman, its very enjoyable to become a mom. If due to some reasons, if conception is taking time, its not wise to focus on her incapability in becoming a mom. Tell someone who broods over that he has fallen down in an accident, that the other parts of his body are doing extremely well! We all need to learn to see the glass half full always. Focus on 90% of good things and leave the 10%. A problem not only drains the energy but also stops the brain from thinking about the solution. If something is not the way we expect, doesn’t mean it will never happen in life! There would be some solution somewhere for all the problems and we need to knock the right doors with the right key and the keys are the positive thinking and the enthusiasm. Afterall, life is not worth to focus on only the small bad things and becoming anxious and frustrated over these. A small motivation each day will keep us peaceful within ourselves and with the outside world. I read this somewhere, stay happy but don’t give the keys of your happiness in others hands!
