Helmet

Why is wearing helmet such an irritation? Why is that everybody invents an excuse to use it?

The common reasons I have seen people use are

Hey! It’s very stuffy and my hairstyle goes in for a toss!

My hairs fall off if I use a helmet and they become fizzy.

Its only a short distance, I shall wear it when we go on a long ride!

Let me breathe in some fresh air and then I shall wear it!

I sweat a lot if I wear one!

We all know these are lame excuses!

 Only if we have a head, we can make different hair styles! The distance doesn’t matter! It’s a shield for the head and we can’t say what we might face even at the street corner!

 Even when there are rules that wearing helmet is mandatory else fine would be collected, we still do not mind and keep the helmet on the petrol tank while driving just to fool the policemen in case we are stopped for not wearing the helmet! The helmet is to protect our brain tanks and not for the petrol tanks! We set a bad example to the kids by not using the helmet.

 What if something unpleasant happens? There are loved ones at every home, waiting for the return of a caring father or a mother, a fun loving brother or sister, an understanding spouse, the darling of the house – the teenager kids. Is it not our duty to keep our loved ones away from worries and tensions due to our irresponsible ways? Do they deserve to sit in utmost tension at a hospital lounge fervently praying for us?  

 Can we all take a new resolution today to wear helmet whenever we use our 2 wheelers? If we remember our loved ones every time we start the 2 wheelers, we are sure to use the helmet!
