Mindful(l)ness

I have observed that many times, my mind would be so full of thoughts that I would get distracted with the job at hand!
Once it so happened that I had to make rotis for everybody at home. Mind was full with thoughts like what would happen if the side dish is not liked by all, what if the rotis are not perfect in shape, etc that I added little more salt while making the dough! Thank god, I requested my hubby to taste and he pointed out the defect! Then, I had to add more flour and repair it.
So many times, mind would be so full of thoughts that the job at hand will not be done perfectly.
We all have this tendency to think about something when we are doing something else.  Once we wake up, mind will rush to start thinking that day’s thoughts, while cooking, the mind will think about why milk hasn’t come that day, while bathing, we think of what to make for lunch, etc.. Always, we follow mindfullness instead of mindfulness!
Not that we are not successful in completing the task at hand, but with mindfulness we can achieve a lot more! Mind would be peaceful if we focus on one task after the other and can complete the task in perfection.
Similarly, I replay some thoughts where I was insulted, cheated or humiliated. This made me hate the person who did to me! True, that we can't forget the incident but its not necessary to replay it in the mind as it would drain us out of the positive energy and its not worth it to be remembered!
Just like a camera is used to capture only the best shots, the camera of the mind should also be taught to remember only happy moments. This way, it will recharge our dull batteries and we would get excited.
So, lets empty our minds of all the junk before going to bed every night and wake up fresh with mindfulness.
