When
Voldemort made horcruxes, I was wondering how JK Rowling got the idea! After
becoming a mother, I can relate so well to it.
Whenever
someone is sick in the family, the mother’s soul is attached to that person. If
it’s a sick child or the spouse is sick, she gets affected mentally. Sitting
next to the sick child all night, crying sometimes and silently watching over
her spouse and crying silently, the mother loses her peace completely! A part
of her gets attached to the spouse and the kids and an incomplete part to
herself! That is why she feels so restless if anyone special to her is not
well.
If
there’s no leave and the spouse has to go to work, she is more worried! She
cannot call and ask if he’s fine, she cannot send an email only to get back the
same reply, “I’m busy”!
Managing
the sick child is another herculean task! The child will throw all sort of tantrums,
I won’t eat this, I don’t want to drink this, etc. etc. She has to find a
strategy to overcome this and by the time the kid is fed and put to sleep, she
feels like hitting the bed without eating, but to only get reminded the chores
is waiting! All she needs is some peaceful sleep which she would get only after
the child is back to routine! Till such time, her prayers would be more fervent
and she would be so volatile! Two kids unwell at the same time or you know for
sure the other child is going to be affected very soon, you would get restless
every moment!
All
the external peace, her workplace and other accomplishments make no meaning to
her if her inner peace, the family is disturbed!
