Its little challenging to get the kids ready for school. While my daughter starts to color with crayons, my son wants to do some activity! They are twins and so that competition is understandable. But, I am not that calm self in the mornings and the lava just waits to come out of the volcano-me!
Before the van comes, I want them to have 5-10 minutes "non-doing" window. I somehow manage.
So, today, just to distract her from the coloring and other activities and toys, I told my daughter to do super brain yoga. When they were little, I had made her do that as a punishment and so from then on, whenever I say thoppukaranam, tears will trickle from her eyes! To change that impression and to undo my mistake, today I spoke to her about how it sharpens the brain.
I told her how our teachers made all of us do it when we were kids. Immediately she asked, was it outside the classroom? I said, No,it was inside the class and everyone had to do! You will be sharp after doing it and will be energetic and I silently moved into the kitchen.
She immediately took it in the right sense and did 3 for me and on her own, did 3 more to show off her expertise to her brother. "Amma says I can answer any questions aunty will ask today! My brain will be sharper" :) To motivate her, I told my son, did you see her doing it the perfect way,Vishrut?!
He said, yeah, I got it and he did it with poise.
While climbing down the stairs, she asks "will my brain be sharper forever? Quickly comes the reply from me, if you can do it everyday! Okay ma, in the weekend, I will do 10 times!"
I am like " Mission Accomplished " with a huge relief and the parathas tasted better with my achievement!
