Haircut at home
As the lock down extended, one problem we faced was how to do haircut for our son. His hair kept on growing and our wait was never ending. As Chennai is known for hot, hotter and hottest climates, he started to sweat more. This became a concern to me!
So, I finally decided to don the hat of a hair stylist! Of course I was scared, as this is my first experience!
So here my son sat with a question on his face on a sheet of news paper. I first called in my hubby to help but later decided I'll do it all by myself. Though the final touch was suggested by him, and we used his trimmer.
After around 30 minutes, I was done and gave a silent pat to myself that I did it! My son was looking at the mirror many times and said, its okay ma. Thank you for doing this. I didn't know what that "okay" mean!
When my Mom and Dad asked him over the phone, he said yeah Pati, Amma didn't know how to do no, so I co-operated. Its okay Pati. Again!!!!
So, I asked him, what's okay?! He coolly said, since its lockdown, you helped me this time, Amma. Next time, you will do better, I know! Awww..so I didn't meet his expectations?! So I said, sure I'll do better, next time!
I was little, more confident when my hubby called me to help ;) for his haircut!
Again after around 40 days it was our son's turn again. This time, I really did a better job and the finishing touch was given by both of us. Our son was happy! He didn't look many times in the mirror and I asked are you okay? He simply said yeah ma, its good.
Then I said, You will not be going out for some more time due to this lockdown. Even after the shops open, I won't send you out. So you better accept whatever is done at home, eyeing my hubby. It was an indirect message to him too.
Both the boys nodded.
Doing this is a part but cleaning after is a task! That is where, the darling Daddy pitched in and relieved me! Then again, bath and finally we sat to relax!
During the usual call to mom in law, our niece asked who did it? So I said, Mami became the barber! Mom in law saw her son and asked, so you didn't have to find a barber?! He said, yeah she did it with my help and I gave her 500 bucks for both of us, ma. I was staring at him, why this money part came up now and said he took that back for buying vegetables!!
Now came the best part!
She coolly said, you should have given her 1000/-
That made my day!!
Life is full of these little unexpected moments!

then I watched so many YouTube videos, after 2 weeks again I tried & it was much much better & finally with dad’s trimmer he did the finishing touch.. and I guess we have to repeat for this whole year..
