Weird generation

 We're a weird generation!

We grew up aiming high marks will settle us in life!

We grew up going to tuitions and monotonously writing every competitive exam!

We believed settling in a foreign land labels our success!

We were told many times its okay not to live here!

We're a weird generation!

Our parents could barge in any of their cousins home, any time!

We need to call to check if its okay to visit even our own parents!

We're a weird generation!

It was a custom to visit a family who lost someone 

Just to reassure them, we're here for them!

Our generation left that to their understanding as we don't go into their privacy!

For our parents, even friends were family!

For us, even parents are expected to be just friends!

They used and reused 

While we use and throw including relationships!

We're a weird generation!

They could share anything easily while

We hesitate even to share our Wi-Fi password!

Nobody really bothered about every step while bringing us up!

But we are so careful in bringing up our children in a safe bubble!

We're a weird generation!

Our parents were peaceful and prosperous without 3bhk homes, cars, gadgets and luxury destinations for vacations

While we have all the above except the peace and calm!

We're a weird generation!

They never shared their personal space for outsiders to see

But, we, capture our everyday life and post it on YouTube, Insta and fb caught between likes and comments!

We're a weird generation!

When we stop living for pleasing the people around us

And live our lives for ourselves, Even if it tests us

We can find the purpose of why we have come!
