To buy or say bye?
You may feel I'm flaunting today but it's tomato rasam in our menu today!
Yes! You read it right. We had been to kumbakonam last weekend and bought vegetables from there. A kilo was costing Rs.160/- when we came back home and checked the price, it had reached 200/-!! Too fast a growth!
I was actually thinking of avoiding this tomato for a week or so, thinking when demand is less, the price has to come down but I was mistaken! I saw some people buying even at this price.
Indirectly, we are the ones driving this! What will happen if we don't eat that for a week..honestly, nothing! We can make other rasam versions and other chutneys! Our Indian cuisine is not dependent on one vegetable.
For example we can make neem flower rasam, coriander rasam, pepper garlic rasam etc.. Even for chutneys, we have options like curry leaves chutney, coriander chutney, mint onion chutney etc..
Life teaches us alternatives in such situations. We also get creative and may create new items! This can be applied to other aspects of our life too. When we can't get what we want, we should either strive for it or go for other options. First option will make sure we use our resources properly and second option will reduce our stress.
Which do you choose?
