This is the very famous line from the greatest poet, William Shakespeare.
The next line in the poem says that all the men and women are players in the stage!
Knowingly or unknowingly, we all are actors in our lives. This is not taught to us but we start acting even as kids. Some kids are so quiet in school but are so naughty at home, by nature. They hide their natural self in school where they act as composed and quiet kids. They know that calm kids become teacher’s pet and hence they act as if they are quiet too. Once back home, parents find it very hard to make them sit at one place and keep them engaged.
Once they grow, they have now established themselves as quiet kids and so they need to maintain the same image. School life comes to an end and now they move on to a college, wherein they play other new roles. The next stage is to move on to work place and wear a different mask according to colleagues, manager and clients.
Married life brings in so many actors hidden in us! Men act according to wife, mother, siblings and the women act according to the husband, in-laws and other relatives. Different situations bring in different actors in us and even if we grow older, we never stop acting. Only the audience change! This way, the fun of living is lost and we keep acting all our lives!
Arre! Why this falsehood? Whom are we trying to impress? Can’t we live as our own selves, enjoying life? Whatever it is, it’s better to say it in front of the concerned person and accept the consequences.
After all, it’s one life and let us relish every bit of the cake!
words sound from the mouth of a great philosopher. carry on and naturally we are proud of you.
