When we were kids, we had one or two toys but now for our kids, we don't forget to get them one or two toys with every visit to the store!
When we were kids, we would walk to most of the places, but now kids hardly walk to any destination!
We never knew trains had AC compartments till we went on LTC, but now our kids don't know if there's a non-ac compartment!
Eating at an restaurant was a rarity, but now eating a full course meal at home is a rarity!
We never knew so many cuisines even existed, but now one buffet consists of many cuisines!
We had one news channel to inform us, but now there are 1000s of news channels showing live yet nothing gets registered in to our heads!
We had so much homework and all the chapters put together for the final exams, but now kids crib for one more homework and more than 5 chapters with multiple choice questions!
We used to run to one doctor for all our needs but now every part of the body is treated by different specialists!
We used to watch one or two channels but now we have 100s of channels to watch and yet we keep switching them with the remote with not more than 5 minutes per channel!
We used to wait for the festivals for eating sweets and other snacks, but now we have access to all varieties of snacks everyday!
We would wait to go to a cloth store and select the special dresses but now for every occasion, we get a new dress and sometimes just because we have a new dress, we make it an occasion!
Photos were a rarity and we invested time and passion to make those memories. But now every mobile or a digital camera has 100s of pictures without any importance attached!
We would crave for a week long vacation and now almost a weekend every month or two will tap the vacation seeker in us!
On the positive side, we all have grown financially to be able to afford all these but the flip side is the values attached to all these are lost somewhere in the journey!
We had some wants and parents fulfilled our needs and we kept quiet, but now our kids have no needs yet their list of wants and wishes are endless!
