All by herself!

All by herself!
As we moved in to this 3rd floor apartment, we were slowly settling in. It is a neat 2 bhk with 2 balconies. Everything was good especially the ventilation.
As soon as the lockdown followed, I heard cheeky noises in the bathroom one morning. In general, I am NOT an animal lover! I like them only at the zoos and I don't hurt them, and expect the same from them! As tiny as a cockroach to as huge as a carnivore, I distant myself as far as possible.
This noise made me jump. My hubby comforted me saying might be from outside and you are imagining. But I knew I wasn't! Quickly, I bathed the kids and closed the bathroom door.
That noise was echoing in my ears and I was scared to use the bathroom! I asked my hubby to check if all is well and he said you go and lets see what will happen! I was like, scared!! I threw a tantrum and told him that he wasn't like before and wouldn't help even for small things! He came inside the bathroom with redness in his face and we both saw there was some junk collected in the corner of the window. I saw jute rope, some twigs and looks like a squirrel is planning to have a home! I was tongue tied! I begged him to remove those and he did amidst shouting at me saying I'm making him do a sin! I felt better that it can't come inside our home. I chose not to listen to his comments. I wanted peaceful sleep!
A week passed.

Again I heard the cheeky noise! I froze! I was sure this time hubby won't help and he just acted out as per my expectations. He even said its not right to stop it building a home! I was like, had it been on a tree, why would I object?! Its inside my bathroom and so I need not allow it, no?!

My points fell into deaf ears! As I can't handle it all by myself, I tried my last resort and prayed sincerely to Lord Rama and said let it not disturb me. Please make it go. I'm sorry for last time I made it removed.
It kept coming in the evenings and will move away during the day. The home was becoming cosier with more cotton like stuff for cushion.

Then, one day I think I saw a tiny creature in the bathroom. As there was a black mesh that separated the grill, my vision wasn't clear. I didn't even have the guts to look at the tiny creature and came out quickly.
The next few days went on as usual with me scared!
As I opened the bathroom door, I was surprised to see there was nothing behind the mesh! I profusely thanked Lord Rama for listening to me!
She had cleaned up everything and left without a trace!

What a noble way to leave!
It was her nursery that she built, delivered her baby, fed it and took care and left the place as soon as the baby was grown!
It really moved me! I told my hubby, probably it was cozy for the little one and this was her maternal home! Now She left with everything without giving us the work to clean it all up!
Definitely, animals are more compassionate and sensible than us, humans! Lock down hasn't affected them a little bit and it's free to go anywhere! I felt bad for taking life for granted! We all long now to go back to normal life!
After this, a squirrel keeps coming, builds a home, delivers and after some days, it cleans up everything and leaves! I don't mind now as long as we both co-exist!
I am a staunch believer in Live and let live!
